Menteri Luar Negeri Retno Marsudi mengutarakan, beberapa ulama Indonesia diundang dalam pertemuan bilateral para ulama Afganistan serta Pakistan, Oktober 2018.
Pertemuan itu adalah tindaklanjut usaha untuk membuat perdamaian ke-2 negara yang sering berkonflik serta sama-sama tuduh masalah militan.
“Mereka tengah mempersiapkan satu pertemuan ulama bilateral Pakistan serta Afghanistan di bulan Oktober, dimana ulama Indonesia akan diundang dalam pertemuan itu,” tutur Retno di Jakarta, Kamis (4/10/2018).

Diundangnya beberapa ulama Indonesia bukan tiada argumen. Karena beberapa ulama Indonesia dipandang sukses mengadakan pertemuan trilateral dengan beberapa ulama Afganistan serta Pakistan di Jakarta baru saja ini.
“Sesudah pertemuan itu, jadi ada pula pertemuan ulama internasional dalam kerangka OKI di Arab Saudi serta saat ini mereka tengah mempersiapkan satu pertemuan ulama bilateral,” kata Retno. Awal mulanya Wakil Presiden Jusuf Kalla terima kunjungan Kepala Eksekutif pemerintahan Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah pada Kamis (4/10/2018).
Selesai pertemuan, Abdullah mengemukakan perasaan terima kasih pada Indonesia yang telah menerimanya kunjungannya dengan baik.
Masalah kerja sama ke-2 negara, Abdullah menyampaikan jika banyak kekuatan yang dapat ditingkatkan, terpenting di bagian ekonomi. Ia juga menyempaikan perasaan terima kasih pada pemerintah Indonesia yang selalu mensupport usaha perdamainaan di Afghanistan sampai kini.
