Jokowi dan Prabowo berpelukan di arena pencak silat mendapatkan perhatian positif. Pesilat Hanifan Yudani Kusumah, yang ‘mempersatukan’ Jokowi dan Prabowo, mempunyai argumen membawa kedua-duanya berpelukan bersamanya.
“Sensasinya terharu. Pertama kali, saya mengapa mesti mempererat semacam itu, sebab Indonesia mesti sama-sama menghormati jangan mencerca Prabowo-Jokowi. Tetapi bagian lain tidak semacam itu, karena dengan pencak silat (menjadi) budaya bangsa Indonesia, saya mempererat silahturahmi kita,” tutur Hanifan.
Peristiwa Jokowi dan Prabowo berpelukan bersamanya berlangsung sesudah Hanifan mencapai medali emas atas kemenangan melawan pesilat Vietnam Nguyen Thai Linh.
Hanifan secara langsung berkeliling-keliling sekalian membawa bendera Merah-Putih, lantas menyambangi ruang kursi VVIP. Hanifan bersalaman dengan beberapa orang, termasuk juga Jokowi. Kemudian, Hanifan menyalami serta memeluk Prabowo Subianto. Lantas membawa Jokowi dan Prabowo berpelukan.
“Agar tahu orang-orang Indonesia, Prabowo serta Jokowi tidak ada apa-apa. Cuma itu beberapa orang yang sirik sebab keberhasilan mereka. Saya menjadi insan silat Indonesia jika silat itu berarti bersilahturahmi. Jadi kita mesti jagalah melindungi hati kita saling. Kita satu bangsa, satu negara, masak kita mesti terpecah-belah sebab hal tidak terpenting,” papar Hanifan.
Selain itu, Jokowi mengapresiasi perolehan atlet pencak silat Indonesia, yang sukses memborong 14 medali emas Asian Permainan 2018. Jokowi pun berterima kasih pada Prabowo Subianto.
“Pertama, saya ada disini katakan terima kasih, yang ke-2 ingin memberi selamat untuk sahabat saya, teman dekat saya, Pak Prabowo Subianto, yang mengomandani,” kata Jokowi.
Jokowi menyebutkan Prabowo menjadi Ketum Pengurus Besar Ikatan Pencak Silat Indonesia (IPSI) mempunyai peran besar atas keberhasilan atlet.
Sedang Prabowo mengapresiasi kedatangan beberapa tokoh, termasuk juga Jokowi. Prabowo menyatakan jalinan kekeluargaan yang erat.
“Orang-orang senang kita satu keluarga,” kata Prabowo.
